Bill Call’s Lancair ES
Evolution of Hayley’s Comet
Hayley is the name of a friend’s daughter whom Fred Egli introduced to flying.  She came down last  summer and got her license and wants to be a commercial pilot.  Going to Embry Riddle University this fall.  Her younger sister loves to fly too – “lets do flips!”
I picked a composite kit because, even though I have lots of experience with sheet metal work, I
felt the composite material would be better for a single person constructing an aircraft.  I keep a notebook which I fill out every day.

I chose the ES because in the brochure it stands for Extra Simple – don’t believe it!
They say 1500 – 2000 hours – that’s the sanding portion!  One of the most important tools is the sandpaper.
