Welcome

EAA Chapter 393

Lucy Hart is our Spotlight Member for April, 2022.

Lucy learned her passion for flying from her father, a private pilot who gave Lucy many happy hours flying in the right seat of their various Piper and Cessna airplanes.  Years later, that passion for flying took Lucy around the world and through history as a stewardess (and I don t mean flight attendant) for Pan American Airways (commonly known as Pan Am) in their jets and Otis Spunkmeyer Air in their DC-3 airplanes.

On the home front, an article in the newspaper about an EAA Young Eagles event at Buchanan Field Airport drew Lucy into the EAA 393 world in May of 2018. She showed up, met some nice people, and turned to retreat out the door.  Peter Mitchell asked her Do you want to be our fundraising chairwoman and be on the Board?” Not wanting to hurt his feelings, she said OK”; and Lucy has become just ‘one of the guys’ helping our Chapter succeed in our endeavors over the years.

“I love this EAA group of pilots and have learned so much from them. My goal is to get my pilot s license this year and I look forward to many more happy hours in the left seat.”

Lucy and her flight instructor Nerville Charles

Lucy is going to be a pilot and is always there as one of our crew to help out with our dinners, calling and signing up members for events and greeting all of us at the sign up table for our scheduled events.  She isn’t our chapter flight attendant, she is our chapter stewardess who ensures events go as planned.

The Officers, Directors and membership wishes you Blue skies and tailwinds with your pilot training and we THANK YOU for your service to Chapter 393.
