  • Early taxi tests. Engine compartment wide open.
  • The cockpit. Ceramic firewall behind seat & in front of rear tanks. Black retrack crank at right. Red fuel pedestal & yellow gear lock release in front of stick. MGL iEFIS dominates panel.
  • P-40C model in official AVG markings, colors, and camo pattern. Blue tail band for 2nd pursuit squadron, Curtis pursuit No. P-8169 on tail assigned No. 43 in AVG, and Assigned to pilot Robrt B. Keeton
  • Spinner is from a Beach King Air 90. Three kill flags for Flt. Ldr. R. B. Keeton's 2 bombers and 1 fighter. Keeton went on to fly for Pan Am out of Oakland and lived in Danville, Ca.
  • The only intellectual property ever given-away by Disney, the leaping tiger specifically designed for the American Volunteer Group (AVG). The blue 'V' for victory was not always used.

  • Access is so easy with clecos rather than riveted-down skins.
  • The final solution to a year-long tailwheel problem; adding a second lower rudder arm to achieve a near horizontal level with the tailwheel horn. Tailwheel was re-worked by Matco to aft-forward pull.
